after downloading a pack from freegsm, theres a whole bunch of files inside. this one for 5.59 is an installer exe that mentions wintesla and has copied much bs to a folder on my hard drive.. the zip file for 5.57 contains one large file ~1.2megs and smaller ones about 512kb, differing only by the letter after the name (a, b, c.. etc)

im guessing the lettered things are language packs (ppms? ) and the bigger one is the mcu, so howcome the mcu isnt 2 megs.. or, howcome the total of mcu+ppm isnt 2 megs? is the missing 300 kb or so, the eeprom, holding stuff like the imei and lifetimers etc.. if i flash using a "virgin" flash, does the imei change 9and i should set it back) ?
should i flash with what ive downlaoded from freegsm.biz, or a full 2 megs file from elsewhere?

have i done everything i need properly by reading out from 0x2000000 to 0x4000000 to back up the phone?

bit of an update.. i read the ini file that wintesla parses.. seems to indicate the big file is the mcu, the smaller ones are the languages, and also calls in some of the other small files.. i dunno how necessary they are? :)

Thats right the bigger file is the MCU and the Lettered files are the PPMs the other files are not needed!
Just use rolis or whatever it convert them into the full flash!

It wont be a full 2 megs as the rest of the file as you said is the eeprom! There is no need to re-flash the eeprom unless yours is damaged!!
But if you do you will need to set the original Phone IMEI number as the one on the Virgin eeprom will be a load of bollocks!!
