Can Somebody, explain how to make
the Infra port for PCs, to connect it with mobile?

And maybe some know how to copy a sim cart to a bigger
(with more memory) or just put a link!

tnx!

Last question...has anybody tried that circuit if it works??? just a little sceptic.. :)

No broblem man, its good to ask .
Not that i know off, but loooking at the schematics i think it would work . I wil try it. Just neeed to get the photo transistor.

@adrianpopa

thanks....

one good source of photo transistors : 5 1/4 floppy drives
3 1/2 floppy drives
CD ROM drives

if cantget any, try cutting the upper part (cover) of transistor 2n3055 or any TO-3 power transistor...try not to cut or go near the internal connections... its big but IT WORKS....that was or they were my first ever phottransistors... :)

Thanks for the advice . I dont know if it would work here cause it should be very fast. I'll better buy one to be sure. Are u going to build it?

maybe and maybe not,

dont know where to buy the usb connector.... it would mean i would have to rip off one from existing devices :)

i think phototransistors have slow response times.....

photodiodes have fast times but needs some kind of amplification...

i got one SHARP Ir recieving module here..dunno if it would work...those modules are (i think) the one used in TVs,sound systems,etc.... recieving side....the one that recieves the data from the remote controler.. :)

ill start soon if i acquire a USB connector....and the required sofware....i think sw for 7650 would be a good start...
bout you? any plans to make?? :

GO HERE FOR DIAGRAM FOR IRDA TO GO TO IRDA MAINBOARDS
MAINBOARD IRDA (http://rcswww.urz.tu-dresden.de/~sb831436/irda/irda.htm)
OR GO HERE FOR THE SERIAL PORT VERSION
SERIAL PORT IRDA (http://rcswww.urz.tu-dresden.de/~sb831436/irda/toim3232.gif)
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK AS I CANT FIND A SUPPIER
FOR SOME OF THE COMPONENTS..

nice link , man :) :) one thing more....my usb coNNEction is not from the motherboard pins, but is alongside every other ports (LPT,COM,USB1,USB2)...can you pls give a connection diagram for a USB with 4 contacts?? i assume the outer one is the ground....

thanks :)

ive got the connection diagram for USB...4 pins....

Vcc,+DATA,-DATA,GND....... which is the IRTX and IRRX for +DATA and -DATA ????

ive got the connection diagram for USB...4 pins.... Hey , you got it all wrong. The pinouts are'nt for the USB port. There's a IR port on the mother board. Refer to your mother boards manual.

You have to use "Add new hardware" then choose IR Device . After installing an icon will appear in the taskbar. Use Logomanager.

ok :)

ill try them again :)

i dunno if this circuit can be used for 6110 or 6150 ??

is selecting DLR3 from logomanager the same with IRDA ??

many thanks : :)

@adrianpopa

have you made that circuit already?

after selecting hardware, i used com8....just tried it so that the software will install....i used also generic IRDa devices from the selection...i hpoe ive done this right.... :)

DLR3 is not the same as IRDA. DLR3 is a type of cable.
I think you did ok.:)
I didnt start building it cause im really stressed-out by my work and got no time. I got all the parts excepting the ph tranzistor.

help on the software side pls.. :)

i dont know if ive selected the right name for it.... i changed it again from IBM>directIR.....from add new hardware...dont know again what com to use...available is from 1-8...wouldnt choosing com1 conflict ???

somebody pls teach me... :( how bout laptops....i think they got internal IRs.. :) how do we activate those ?? what hardware "profile" to use??

is 6110 suffient enough to test this IRDa ??

just confused more.... :)

here is the layout of my mainboard....

btw, i opened up bios to see if there is control for IR...did not find any....does it mean it doesnt support IRDa?? :)

Normally if you have got irda on board then when you look in your Bios it should be there and all you have to is enable it then restart your system then windows will find new hardware and install the drivers for it !!
One of the links I posted above has a diagram for making irda device to connect to the standard serial port quite a hefty project and if you use google you should be able to find the drivers and protocols that you need .........

@ pete_polecat

yup...i think i got the point.... if there REALLY is provision for IR then it should be seen on the BIOS... :(

pitty me...mine aint got IR....

the best way really is to ask for the board manuals if there are any....

tsk.... :)

anywayz, tnx ....... :)
