I just wonder, wil the battery last shorter if i keep bluetooth on? (3650)
And btw: IR - will that also drain the battery?
On my palm I think it is standard to keep IR activated... It is really annoying that it automaticly turns it off so quickly...

Yes of course it will, but how much? Is it noticable?

i think if its in standby (no ones fon is connected) battery consumption is minimal, however if there is a connection, it does eat up battery...

Ok, I only want it to be on in standby, in case someone want to send me something.

It depends on what kind of "user" U R.
For instance, I receive and make many calls a day, so the stand-by drainage is very noticeable (to the pint I had to buy a car charger and an extra battery JUST INCASE, as I depend a lot on my mobile).
If U R a user that does not make nor receive many calls a day (like my cousin), you won't notice so much. That battery last almost 3 days to him...

i ALWAYS have my bluetooth on even when im not using it... often times i receive nice pictures from anonymous people within a 10m radius... it doesnt EAT up battery... hmmmm.... and do remember that 3650 battery life is much longer then the 7650...

u lucky man! how come whenever i get a bluetooth message and look around all i see are.... well its bad to say bad things.... u know what i mean, hehe!
Don't you have to enter password into each phone first... to pair 2 phones, before you are able to send images ?

@GeeZuZz,
Bluejack is a term use by those who intentionally/purposely send contact numbers/calendar notes/image or whatever they can send, from their bluetooth phone/pda to any other bt phone, that left their bt ON & Shown to all modes.
if you wanna be a victim of those Bluejacker out there, just switch your bt on. if your good luck, you'll be bluejacked by chicks... like
what schizo have been thru.

and you can send msg or chat without any special software like dreamchat or anything, you just needing a notepad (which is on your phone already) and turn your bluetooth on, so you can send it and other can receive it when they accept it, try it!

IR doesnt eat too much battery because it automatically turns off when not in use unlike the BT.

OF COURSE all nokias swtich off IR automatically, but I was talking about the current use of it AND to what he was referring to (or at least I understood), on his example of the PALM leaving the IR on, yes???
Either this or my English is not so good anymore......

I have tested a little now, and my conclusion is that leaving bluetooth turned on (stand-by) is not noticable. (I actually feel my battery lasted longer now!)
