Hi,

I was wondering can anyone help at all.
I dug out my old Nokia 9000 and it's an Orange (UK) network one.
So obviously the phone is blocked from accepting any other Sim

I wondered what I had to do to unlock it to work with my vodafone sim (in my other phone)

Do you need a special cable to unlock it - or is the data cable that comes with the Nokia 9000 usable?

Many thanks

Russ

God, that phone brings me back a few years, had a few of them, anyway to you little problem, you can unlock the phone but it will only work on Orange or T-mobile as it's a single band phone not dual, but if you live in the london area you can use it as it will say UK-15 on the screen (this I have not tested but this work's on other single band phones like the 5130). Read this thread on how to unlock the phone http://nokiafree.org/forums/t15959/s.html if all else fail and you would like to sell I'm you man as I have a 9210, 9110 just need a 9000 and I have full set.:D

Thanks for the reply lonegunman.

I tried that link you pointed out.
When I enter my IMEI number in the dos prompt it doesn't conform to the number of digits they have listed to enter.

In the DOS screen it has.

Service Provider Code (XXX-XX):234-33
Enter IMEI (XXXXXX-XX-XXXXXX-X):

after entering DOS window just terminates (using XP)
Any ideas????

It was nice when I stumbled across my old phone - packed away :)

I just wondered what it would be like to use it again:D

Cheers

Russ

Might be because you are using XP, post up your IMEI and I will try for you.

russ: If you directly opened the program from windows, without using a command shell, that's probably your problem. Most dos applications doesn't have a 'pause and wait for user input' thingy at the end which makes them just quit. So, try opening the program in a dos shell. (run > cmd)

Doh!

Macke you were spot on :) I've been so far removed from using DOS I forgot how it works!
Thanks mate.

lonegunman - Cheers for your help and pointers.
It all seems to work now - I'm obviously just outside London coverage (surbiton)- I can pick up the following networks orange/cellnet/onetoone now with the phone. I'm going to be working in central London soon, so will give it a try there.

Thanks again guys for the help.

lonegunman

is there a software that can unlock my 9210i? and also is this a dct3 or dct4?

You need to use eeprom tools and a 9110 m/bus cable, not the cable that comes with the phone.
