Can the product code be changed on a 8310 , or would that require and imei change ?

reason im asking , is that i had recently a restricted 8310 , got the unlock codes , nothing worked , , gave it to a friend at a service centre , who changed the product code for me on phoenix i think and did a imei request , etc ...

any ideas
dont know if the product code can be done by itself ??

he changed it to a standard 8310 aussie product code.

i gave my locked phone 8310 to a mate of mine , he took to work , i tried unlocking it , with unlock codes , but couldnt work for some reason dunno why ,

anyways , he changed the product code using phoenix and did a imei request (rewrote the imei and unlock sp's) , and flashed the phone , he changed the product code to a australian model .

all this using nokia service software they use at their service centres , he didnt change the uem or even open the phone ..

theirfore dunno about people saying that changing any of that info is impossible without changing uem ???

Read old posts about IMEI changeing on DCT-4 phones, yes it can be changed by not removing the UEM chip, but the cost is way to much for us normal unlockers, so to cut cost people found away of doing IMEI rebuild by changing the UEM chip.
