Hi to all of u there...
For me, I think Nokia is the best mobile manufacturer, but I don't know why every Nokia phone has one or two setbacks which does'nt let everyone say that this is the phone which deserves to be christened the Best Nokia Phone. Although I know that everybody has his own choices like price, looks, features but there should be a phone which if everybody not loves, everybody should like.
I will love to hear from you all that Is there a phone which can be said to be the best Nokia Phone till now and Why?
I think that by providing your views you can help new mobile phone buyers or people who are switching to nokia for better options or people who have a nokia phone but wanna upgrade.
Regards,
Yo!

Difficult question:cool: 6220 seems really cool with its latest tecnologies such as edge, gprs etc and it digital camera but unfortunately here,we dont have gprs, high speed data circuit, edge and mms. But what i find really cool is the n-gage with its gaming technologies and 3d graphics which the game boy advance doesnt have and its radio. Hoping, that developpers will release rpg games for it such as the legend of zelda and breath of fire;) etc

i see this question many times online..
but i dont think you should ever get a real answer, as how can you say nokia xxxx is best without owning nokia yyyy?

some people who has 7110, will say yeah best phone. nice display size (if your blind hehe), games, wap etc etc
but most of us no, 7110 looks like a piece of shit so it is not best nokia..
every nokia has pro's and con's
without owning and using a certain model for some time you cant really comment on it in my opinion.

is nokia the best fones?

use it and wait until you get problem. if the fones still under warranty you will not worry to get it repair but when the warranty end... keeps pray that your fone always in good condition.

if the fones warranty expire and have hardware fault. then when you get it repair to to NSC, they will make you to fill the form for agreement that they (NSC) will not take any responsible for any more damage of your phones during repair process.
example if you fones was loss signal and they cannot repair it then they give back the fone to you in dead condition. you cannot ask for compensation to them by causing your fones more damage.

other situation, when they must dealing with glued chip they will charge you 3/4 of the new fones price for swap it or you trash it to bin.

So for me about nokia - most of them are really shit and few of them ok.

Naturally the 8310, in my opinion...

- It's lightweight
- Very esy to use
- Cheaper than others
- And most importantly:
nobody in their right mind would bother stealing it off you

If you're looking for style, with lots of functionality, the best phone to go for at the moment is the Nokia 7250.

If you're looking for endless features, colour screen etc, the best phone is the Nokia 9210(i), which i recently upgraded to.

There is no better phone than a Nokia.

I am with DJWard

I love my 9210 because of its features and style its like a mini laptop:D. but its bulkynes "who cares"

7250 verry cool i would buy one if i had the money:D

8910i looks cool but its only symbian series 30 like the teen phones (3510i/3530/3510) not as many features
for such a high price (except bluetooth and ir)

Choose well:D

I'm sure if you all looked at the N-Gage you would see it is most derinetly the best phone, you get fm stereo radio, digital audio player and recorder, you can use midi, wav and other sound files as ring tones, it takes flash media cards to store songs, games and a whole list of state of the art tecnology. the 3300 is all so a nice high tech phone.

3300 is a very good phone, but again it lags behind in the same area where 7650,3650,9910 etc. too have a drawback. These phones are not too much suitable for daily use. They are good as handheld accessories but as a daily use mobile phone, there huge size really sucks. There looks too are not very attrative. 7650 and 3650 provide bluetooth so that you can use bluetooth handsfree but that too is not good for everything. You have to take your phone outta your pocket to dial someone's number.

I think the best daily use mobile phones which are also very good in extra features in nokia range today are 7250 and 6620. Sexy looks, great features and small and lightweight.

8910i too is a good phone but lacks at someplaces. Like the biggest drawback it has is that it is only operational in GSM 900/1800. Secondly it's cost is too high.

For starters I think there is no match for 7210 and 6610. Both are good phones with lot of good features and they are very economical too.

Hi everyone,

After seeing and using a number of phones I'd say Nokia definitely makes the best phones in terms of features and ease of use. As one of Nokia's Theme's is "Human Technology" they realize that just as humans are individuals with different likes, requirements and desires, the could be no single phone that would please everyone, so they keep trying to come out with newer and better models.

Here in Goa the most popular at the moment are 3310, 3315, 8210, 8250, 8310 and 5210. Of course there are people here who use the 7210, 7650, 7250 and 3650 besides other models, but these are more expensive sets and not so popular here. 2100 looks like it'll have a lot of takers. Now the trend is for small sleek phones and quite a few people would like colour screens if they could afford it.

:)

I know you are right trion, but you are not absolutely right. Here in delhi 90% of my friends use colored LCD screen phones. And if you think that colored LCD phones are not affordable, try to look at 3530. It's maintains an absolute equilibrium between cost and functionality.

only an indian would use the phrase "absolute equilibrium" :) splendid use of english - congratulations!

er seriously now...

I love my 8890 - it does 1900, plus voda (screw the 1800 networks)...
My GF's 6610 is also dopez... looks splendid, ... the 6100 also looks quite sexy. ....

I fear for my 8890 being nicked even now :/

8910i would have been perfect with triband and in black. Nokia are fools for not making a triband edition...

You could always go for a vertu... mmm?

I'm sorry about my english chavo, but you should'nt use these type of words for a mistake of just one Indian. I'm proud to be one, and anybody who comes here in India knows exactly what's the reason behind that.

Remember, Just one man does'nt make a community or religion bad...:)

Your use of english is most unusual - it is NOT a criticism, merely a point - I *like* unusual word formations - and yours is classically indian in it's formation. Indians use english in an interesting and often exciting way. I meant no offence in my comment, I was simply remarking that it was a very unusal usage of the language.

I *used* to love the idea of the 8910, but having held it, cradled it, played with it, fiddled etc.. the GLARING lack of GSM 1900, and the curious lack of even peripheral camera support VEXES me sufficiently enough to say NO! The 8890 maxes it for style, size, etc.

And the popup mechanism just isnt as cool as I first thought it was....

7110 ALL THE WAY!!!!

What an amazing phone, miles ahead of anything at the time, excellent screen, amazing navi roller, and a slider to die for! I had the pleasure of owning one and it is without a doubt the best phone nokia have made. Its a shame technology deemed old, i think i would still have that phone 2day but i kinda got chucked about and decided not to work so i sold it as spare parts, i should have kept it and put it in a safe and let the future generation see what they missed out on!

Although I don't prefer bulkier phones, but from the day I have read about N-Gage, I'm really flattered. N-Gage is a phone cum a very powerful gaming device like Nintendo and Sega. It has everything to die for. Some of it's cool features are:
Single player games, local multiplayer Bluetooth games like Sonic and Tomb Raider.
Illuminated high-contrast, full-graphics color display (size 176 x 208 pixels)
Series 60 graphical user interface enabling application multitasking with*five-way navigation
Digital music player for AAC and MP3 files
Stereo line in for audio recording (analog)
64 MB memory card for music
Stereo FM Radio
Nokia Audio Manager PC Software
Memory 3.4 MB internal + external memory cards (32, 64 and 128 Mb available*separately)
MP3, AAC, Midi, WAV ringing tones
6108 is also a phone to look out for because of it's jot down feature and handwriting recognition feature. But it again lacks two important features: Bluetooth and Camera.

looks good, but the problem is that is aint really a phone, more of a fashion statement, camera, radio etc etc just add to it. The 7110 was a phone and and amazing phone at that, i dont think any thing can be compaired to the 7110 as it was way out in front of anything at the time, maybe the ngage but thats just a gameboy with the feature of a phone as appose to a phone with the added feature of a gameboy (if that makes any sence)!!

You definetly make sense about N-Gage ceanth and I agree with you. But 7110 being the best phone does'nt fits in the context 'cause it lacks many crucial factors for which I will deny buying any phone like color screen, wallpapers, MMS etc. You got my point.

ceanth
13-06-2003, 03:19 PM
how would you define "best nokia phone"

Greatness is defined by not what it only looks like but how something amazed and defyed reality, when i first saw and used the 7110 it was like using a peice of NASA equipment! Due to the range and avalibility of phones now a days, it is difficult to achieve this "greatness" as you are spoilt for choice, back then there wasnt a big choice and what u had was, well what you had. Phones lasted longer. Its kinda like saying how you got your first bike or watch, wasnt the best of bikes or watches but it was ur first digital watch with an ALARM! or a first bike with a speed-o-meter. I guess my point is, what ever turns you on will be the best nokia phone u had :D (or turned you on i mean)

Hey guys,
I think now the best Nokia phone award can be finally given. See Nokia 6600 (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,33211,00.html) which is indeed the best phone Nokia have manufactured. It has nearly all the features you need in a single phone:

Integrated digital camera with zoom
Small and lightweight
Video recorder with audio support
Streaming video and audio
Wireless connectivity with Bluetooth and infrared
6 MB internal memory
Memory card slot for additional user memory and applications.
Supports Java? MIDP 2.0 applications
Data synchronization with PC via PC Suite
Tri-band operation in GSM E900/1800/1900 networks
Bright active matrix TFT color display with 65,536 colors, and a resolution of 176 x 208 pixels.
5-way joystick navigation
Symbian Operating System 7.0s
Advanced contacts database with support for multiple phone and email details per entry, also supports thumbnail picture and groups
Ringing tones: True Tones, polyphonic tones

if you think about it the best nokia phone surly has to be the something like the 5110, or models earlier then that, because if they were not invented then u would not have any of the newer phones, its like saying if the original star trek series wasnt made then you wouldnt have had star trek the next generation (if u see what i mean) :D

well if it was past models I'd agree with ceanth as the 5110 was the first nokia if not mobile phone to have features such as changable covers, clock, games and calculator with currency converter:) wow what a break though, but with todays technology who knows what's around the corner, I personly can't wait for the Australian release of the N-Gage, if not may be they'll be out in the States late this year when I'll be viseting family.

yjagota
21-06-2003, 08:48 AM
Then this can be said about a number of phones devolution. Samsung started coloured screens. 7650 brought a revolution with a camera, external memory, symbian applications and games, full MIDP support with full integration with phone's prefixed applications.

What I'm talking about here is not what happened earlier and who did it. It's about a perfect Nokia phone. A balanced phone which has nearly all the current technological features like Bluetooth, Video camera, Video editing etc. 6600 isn't a revolutionery phone. It's a phone with the perfect balance. It's a technological tour de force. It has nearly every feature which is currently present under mobile standards. The day you purchase a phone, a much more advanced phone is present in the market. But you won't regret purchasing 6600 sooner or later. The features it provides will make it top the feature list for some time coming. That's what important. That's what atleast I need in my phone. And if you take 3300 or N-Gage into consideration, I'm talking about daily use phones not phones cum gaming devices.

ceanth
21-06-2003, 09:14 AM

Well, for me the 51XX and 61XX series phones were the best.

The 6110/6130 is still fresher and better-featured than many a Siemens or Sony-Ericsson phone. Not to mention also-rans like Alcatel, Sagem, Philips, Panasonic and the like.

Well my Miss's always adopts my old phones (good excuse for me to get a new one) 3330 is what she's got at mo (robust and easy to use) just giving her my 8310 tonight once ive unlocked it (enough basic features, light, but too small for my big hands) just got a 7210 and im chuffed with it, not too small got all the bits i need on it and great for talking to people on loudspeaker, especially when they realise it !!!

My hands down to N-Gage. It has all the features tech freaks will crave for. Its a multi-purpose phone (like P800) but i dont like ericsson anyways. Im still waiting for its release though. For now, im using 3300. Lots of features and lots of memory, easy connectivity and file management. Can also be used as a storage(massive memory space, i heard of a 512mb). Cool music. Very nice as of the moment.

Best nokia phone availible = 3650

6600 is only competitor but this is not yet released and will cost far too much.

3650 has best camera for any phone on the market, although it only has 4096 colors you will never tell because of nokias image processing!

Some features:

record videos
record sound
play mp3's
hundreds if not thousands of games availiable
including c64 emulator
GameBoy emulator (with zelda)
you can even play doom

if you ever got board of that, with addition mmc cards you are able to watch films, tv programs!!!! even all the lastest ones that arnt even out on video!

e-books
web browser

even controll your tv or video through the ir port

the 3650 is slightly large but because of its rounded shape it feels a lot smaller, the p800 and 7650 although smaller actually feel bigger because of there square shape.

There are alot of small cute camera phones out such as 7250 t610, which are nice phones but in terms of what they can do they just dont even come close to 3650. plus there cameras are so crap there useless!

So for price and ability there is no comparison!
