Hello all!
First post 4 me, hope some of u learned peeps can help me!
I bought a 8210 of ebay, the phone powers up fine and all the functions work.
The phone will lose signal though. I power up the phone, then i stay in one place with 4 bars then after a few seconds the phone will lose all signal.
Ive replaced the aerial with a brand new 1, but it still loses signal every time its powered up.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks in advance

Where can i buy a new PA?
Thanx

Have you or has someone else flashed the 8210? Because the symptom "full signal - then losing signal in a few seconds" also occurs when you flash the phone but forget to calculate the FAID..
It's worth a shot before you go altering any hardware.

allard.

If you or someone have flashed the phone! Just connect to mbus, use noktool by rolis, click FAID
Else if it's hardware, (like my problem before)
Find the RF Power Amplifier (Attached is the diagram of 8210)
The Red X is the Power Amplifier, while the two blue arrows points to the Soldered parts of the RF PA, just resolder the parts with a fine tip solder or hot air soldering station, it the defective signal persist, replace the RF PA with a new one
(See first if the RF PA soldered parts are corroded, like my problem before, i've just resoldered it and it's already okay)

but no apear signal bars and set reset after some time
and set repeat it ......

The symptom (Only CC and NC on display) is not common
in case of a FAID problem. When you flashed a phone and
haven't recalced FAID it just powers up, shows full signal
bars and within seconds drops down to zero..

Does your phone restart or hangs after turning it on? If yes then you need to use FAID.
If you already done that, and still the problem persist then your problem now is RF Power amplifier

right update time!
Used nokia tools 18. Clicked on faid = no change! still drops signal. Also ive noticed now that even with a brand new battery the mobiles charge is only lasting 5-10 hours approx.
Where can i get a new RF PA from chaps?
Thanx in advance

I think you have a multiple hardware problem, if a phone drains it's charge in less than 5 hours without making a call or using it (with a new battery) then your problem is "Charging Control IC - N100"
The hardware affected on a phone which has no network are -
1. Antenna Socket - No network
2. RF Power Amplifier - after turning on, signal is ok, then goes down
3.TX Filter - No network
4. Pre-amp transistor - Network OK but no SMS or Call
5. Local OSC VCO - Reception failure
6. Antenna switch - No Network
7. RX Filter - No Network
8. HF Amp Transistor - No Network
9. CPU - No network, power failure or no display
Test it one by one, from 1 to 9, you can find spares for your phone in a cellphone repair shop, or you can find new parts from china or on the web

When i switch on my 8210 it takes a little while to get a signal and then it gets a full signal.which will drop to nothing then come back and so on.it will some times stay at full power for ages and then go to zero.all this whilst in the same place.have tried FAID and two different service providers with same results.als tried service providers in a 3330 and all ok in that phone.
