Fbus to Mbus

If I have a fbus cable and there are only 3 wires connecting it, and if I am right in what I have read, that there are only 2 wires connected for a mbus cable, is it possible for me to convert the f to m and possibly put a switch on

Yes you can convert, or even better, make a dual autoswitching f/mbus cable. Instructions are here:

Very interesting articles
But seeing as my fbus is only connected with a 9 pin serial socket and 3 wires only connected to the phone plug end, Can I not just rearrange these wires to make it a mbus
