I have a problm bout editing backup flash...

Hello guys!!!!!

I have a problm bout editing backedup flashes.
when i edit the flash like pics or ringtones, and then flash it back to the phone, i got a contact service. but if i use original flash files that i downloaded from the internet everything seems ok...
i already updated the ppm and mcu checksum but i still get contact service.

can u help me bout my problem?

how can i solve this and what is the reason why i get a contact service....

Rules in editing flash files

1. Do not edit files with eeprom (full flash), use MCU PPM only
2. Edit flash files which has a little language packs
3. Correct checksum (PPM & MCU)
4. Kill MCU faid after editing (optional - if #3 is does'nt solved the problem)
5. Always use Nfree to check checksum and correcting manually (Checksum correctors sometimes does'nt check overlapping)
6. If you flashed an Edited Full Flash always overwrite (by flashing) the Eeprom part (on the correct address) with a virgin eeprom then restore the IMEI (coz a virgin eeprom has no IMEI)
7. Do not overlap a space allocated for other graphics or text, always remove/move/resize a graphic that is affected to make the outcome free of clutter (graphics)
8. Do not edit a flash in an instant, take it slow, part-by-part, saving/correcting every part

I have a same problem with editing, how can i back up mcu ppm only.? what software can i use?

use rolis
and from flash menu choose the second read not the first one
or choose the dark green icon not the light one
and begin from 200000 and end just b4 the begining of the eeprom
or if u r lazy like me and do not like to write addresses use knok

thanks! newcasper for the reply, i use knok coz i dont have rolis.
at knok if i click "READ" which option there i will use? read mcu and store as fls. or read ppm and store as fls.?? pardon me coz iam amatuer with regards to software problem:)

what version of knok do u use?
95 or st or 2k ?
