Does anybody know if there is any difference in appearance between a v1 dongel and a v2, if not is there anyway of telling them apart

I dont have a dongle but your best bet is to buy a mains powered USB Hub (Pcworld) sell one although slighty expensive.

Low Powered USB ports are command probs on laptops

Belkins are a decent brand have worked for me in computer related probs
