Hi,

Just finished flashing with 6250 MCU + PPM. Then used virgin EEPROM at 5FA000, recalculated FAID. Everything was working fine, the phone registered on the network, all the menus accessible.

The problem:
- when making calls, instead of clear voice I get a very trashed sound, as being in an area with poor GSM signal, but the signal is strong - bar full. Any ideas about this problem ??

Thanks,
Costin

Just forgot to mention, when flashed back with the 6210 MCU + PPM + EEPROM the phone works again fine.

Thanks. In fact it was the user data area in the interval 5A0000 - 5AF000 that was not compatible with the 6250. I have just erased the whole flash 2 - 6 and flashed back the 6250 MCU + PPM + EEPROM, restored the phonebook and I have a nice working 6250 now, no more problems.

I've cleared the whole flash using kNok, then i've flashed the 6250 firmware into my 6210 - updated FAID - everything works fine, but i get a VERY weak signal!

How do i upload the 6250 virgin EEPROM???

I've tried it with flasher, but every time i get a "Boot Init Error". Please, could somebody explain me what i'm doing wrong?

PS. Is there any IRC channel where you ppl meet?

After upgrading my 6210 to 6250 (MCU+PPM+Virgin EEPROM), updated FAID, Reset SP Lock, Reset to full factory settings.

If tested it a couple of days and i'm sure that it DOESN'T work in 100%. No menu hangs the phone, but i get a very weak network signal (as mentioned before).

Uploading the virgin EEPROM didn't fix the 1800MHz problem!

I'm sure bout that, cause my operator is based on 1800MHz. When i use a sim from a different operator everything seems to be fine, but the other operator has a strong 900MHz signal, so you can't see the difference!

If anybody is SURE that he has fixed the 1800MHz problem - Please reply

PS. Looks like i'm a spammer :p

No matter what I did I couldn't make it work either... I tried all the eeproms I could find. I even tried older 6250 versions...

The thing I did not try is to manually bring up the AGC and output power level using wintesla (RX_TX calibration).

That should work but I you need special equipment. Look at the service manual for more details. If you can get the equipment (and a working copy of wintesla) I could talk you through how to do it...

Cheers,
Chris
