why??

WHen i make a file with the hip cam and pass it to my PC (Isave films on my mmc and use a mmc reader to pass files to and from my phone) it is in a IVF format and windows multi media player cannot read it...and it seems my friends who have other various media players cannot see the film either, it is not enough to rename the file as that doesn't work either,.... how can I see them on my PC??
