Yes its a program for flashing with some mbus function. hmm where to find it??? its up there, attached to the post /n/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Actually that's not the only method but knok incorporated both flasher and mbus tools in one handy program. /n/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

you can also use rolis flasher and rolis noktool or bphreaks eeprom toolv3 etc..

but you can use the above solution coz it also has xp support and doesn't necessaily need pure mbus cables.

Whats the main differences between a 6210 and a 6250. Also heard rumours that 1800gsm doesnt work after doing the upgrade. Is this right?

Oh, and what tool do you use to flash the eeprom? Everytime i try it with Dejan i get "Fatal Error: Bad File "flasher.cfg" !", and Rolis doesnt recognise it as a flash file.

made the upgrade more than a month ago. Basically I see only a few changes. One is the sound meter (displayed with a db graph). Second is the automatic keypad lock. You can set it to keypad lock for whatever time of inactivity you like. For example, you can set it at 5 secs, thus 5 secs of not touching any of the keys, the phone automatically locks. There's also a screen contrast adjuster. Then a task scheduler thingy. The only problem I noticed after a month of testing is sometimes, after you have the phone turned off for a few hours, when you turn it on, there will be times when you will not get any signal from your service provider, although everything is ok, signal wise. I have to turn off the phone, then turn it again before it gets the signal. That's the major problem I see. All faid calcs are ok, so it's not based on checksum errors. I doesn't do resets after 30 secs or so. I can't still pinpoint what's causing it. But I get signal from both 900 and 1800 frequencies. Just make sure you do a full flash (mcu+ppm+eeprom), then flash the 6250 virgin file in using dejan flasher. Use nk_calc to write the proper imei values, do faid calc, then eeprom check.

Hi!

I also did the flash and it works perfectly. I did not have the proble of not getting signal but I switched it off just over night...

I also tried 8210 /8890 /8850 and 7110 flashes but none of them works (ok no wonder /n/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif It was impossible to turn the phone on. So I reflashed the old version (completely with my own e2p and everything was fine again. (FAID was not necessary then btw.

Can somebody send me (any) full flash for 6210 including e2p? I wnn know whether the FAID is already "in".

I have flashed a 6250 full MCU+PPM flash and EEPROM Tools will not read the IMEI, even though every other program will.

I cant update the flash ID so therefor the phone gets no signal and resets.

NK_Calc doesnt work
KNOK doesnt work for me either, says it cannot support 6250 even though I am using build19, its not even in the drop down list

how can i get the FAID calculated and tune it to recieve 1800mhz ?

I also heard that you will loose the High speed data functionality. This could be bad for me since my operator supports this functionality in his network.

What I did then was to full flash my 6210 with 6250 flash (mcu+ppm+eeprom) using rolis. Afterwards, I flashed 6250 virgin eeprom to the phone using dejan. Since the virgin file is around 26kb only, rolis or any other flasher won't accept this flash as valid, only dejan based flashers will flash this file to the phone. With a fully flashed phone, I then used nk_calc to enter the correct imei, pressed f3 to repair eeprom, then f1 to calc faid. I then loaded nokiatool to do a full reset. You can also press these keys on the phone to do a full factory reset (*7370#). The only weird thing you'll see is that you can't read your security code, you get an invalid or error message when using nokiatool or the other flasher apps. However, logomanager will read the security code fine.
About your problem Liam, when I tried to flash my 6210 with 6250 (mcu and ppm flash only), I also flashed the 6250 virgin eeprom to my 6210's original eeprom. Afterwards, used nk_calc to change my imei, to reset eeprom then calc faid. The phone worked ok with that procedure. But someone said the phone won't get 1800mhz signal. But my phone worked just fine. Still, I flashed it with 6250 eeprom just to be sure, flashed the 6250 virgin file, then followed the aformentioned procedure with nk_calc. I basically used only 2 apps during my tests, nkcalc and eeprom tools.
I never experienced that hanging problem you're getting man0n.
About the highspeed data transfer, I was able to activate it with that nokia profile app, dunno if the high speed data transfer is actually activated as indicated by the app.
