Hi all,

I have a nokia 3310 given to me and the screens kind of flickering

Ive managed to play with the contrast and now you can read the screen easy enough yet it still flickers :(

I've read somewhere that youy can bridge resistirs/capacitors on the screen to stop this - this possible?? if so which ones???

Cheers for any sugestions

Mike

Its not always a good idea to open a mobile phone.... you should goto a Nokia shop and they should repair it for a small price. Around £10.99

there are several possibilities regarding this flickering effect. but u may try this. when u opened ur 3310, just check the 2 capacitors beside the power switch. resolder this if needed and see what happens. or u may check for the LCD contacts in the PCB.
for clarifications just email me.

where's that LCD IC located?

as far as i knew, LCD in DCT3 phones is directly connected in the CPU.;)

My mate had a problem like this, Didn't fix it because it was ok to use.
BUT I noticed that on his LCD it had no capacitors nect to the LCD but On my brand new screen it had 2!
Maybee this is what your looking for, if you buy a new LCD maybee that will work!
