Hi,
I ve got around a 7650 with the following issue:
We start with phone OFF. If we press ON a white screen comes up for a while, then phone switches OFF again. (Note: the logo NOKIA doesnt appear as weel as the two hands as in the normal booting process).
However with SIM card installed and pressing *continously* the ON button after 3-5 tries the phone will boot normally (aka the logo NOKIA will appear and the 2 hands after etc etc).
Now from the moment that the phone has boot everything is OK! The phone works fine in any aspect! Only problem is that if we switch OFF again the phone and try to start it back we are faced again with the same issue. Aka we need to try 3-5 times pressing *continously* the ON button to make the phone boot...
If we just press the ON button instantly the phone will not boot. Just this white screen will come up for a 15-20 secs and the phone will switch OFF automatically.
Also without the SIM card inside the phone it is not possible to boot the phone to the point that says "insert SIM card"...

Anyone knows what this is? Software or hardware problem?
Phone runs firmware v3.16. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Best Regards,

The chasis is faulty , the powerbutton is mounted on the chasis , iv been replacing alot of them with power on faults , sometimes u got fiddle with it alot just to turn phone on or off right?

once i change the chasis (power button is on it) it works fine , is the phone under warranty , take it in to a service centre , they will cover it under warranty .

I had the same problem with my old one so I took it to the service centre and they gave it a Software Upgrade. Ever since it has been fine.
