I think it's a load of shite personally! That code is for unlocking the phone and it's ten digits, not five!!! Y can be one to four only!;)

@chunkhead
#pw+code+Y# <- this is the unlocking code, 10 digits, starts with #
*pw+code+Y# <- this code is 5 digits long, but no one knows what it is for :confused:

mm... usually * activates and # deactivates or vice versa..
so *pw etc for LOCKING?
just a guess...

ok I just tested this code thing and it is for unlocking you type
#pw+the first 10 digits in your imei+the next digit in your imei#
I got sim not restricted, to get the p,w and + signs keep pressing *
*pw+first five digits in your imei+the next digit in you imei# I got not allowed. so they are or do some thing but I don't know what the secont one is for

are you sure it is that simple to unlock the phone? doesn't it have to be some algo that calculate the codes?
i think you got "sim not restricted" because it wasn't locked before.
..and another thing, i have 9 for the 11th digit of my IMEI, and the number after the + sign has to be 1-4..

maybe the 5 digits has to be the secutiry code? just an idea..

Nah, I tried that first! All I get is "Not Allowed"!!! I'm still sticking with the idea that it does nothing!!!:(

well, have you tried *pw+(LAI)+1-4 ?
LAI = MCC + MNC
MCC = countrycode (finland 244)
MNC = network code (operator) (sonera 91)
in finland, LAI is 5 digits. and i guess that LAI is needed for sim locking...
there's no imei used for unlocking with #pw.
code is calculated from imei.
there has been for ages that program where you enter your imei and LAI, then use that calced string to unlock your sim. clear?

i have tried that too, with my operator code (orange israel, 425-01) but got the same result ("Not Allowed") :(
maybe "Not allowed" means we are not allowed to use this function, so there is no number that will work. like when you type the wrong unlocking code 5 times, the unlocking function can not be used anymore, so this can also be true for this function.
maybe the operators block it from being used by users..
