As in previous posts, find someone abroad with the same barred phone or any other dct4's and do a straight swap.Best way around it at the moment.
Good luck.

DCT4 IMEI change????

If you are good with a pair of tweezers, it can be done.
I forgot to mention the new UEM chip too, and the hot air station, and the solder, and the skill......Did I mention its illegal too?

In short *yawn* it cannot be done with software, this is not my opinion, its a fact!

When DCT6 phones come out, maybe source will be released, but you will have more fun unlocking a new 3 video phone!!

yes JAC is right! it can not be done through software because the IMEI is written only once. the cheap is like a ROM (Read Only Memory). you can only read but not write on it. :) the rest is changing the chip with good behaviour :)

Yes, UEM is OTP(One Time Programmable) chip. You need to change chip and write new IMEI.
I think you all shold know that this software costs thousands of dollars.

Even in future solution will be to change UEM chip and write IMEI, or restore IMEI on someother location, and redirect bootpass checks from UEM to that other location (this would be even more complicated...)

So...........

In simple terms, up to DCT3, Memory is equivalent to CDRW.

DCT4 memory is equivalent to CD ROM.

Hope this helps :)

I may be wrong, but I have seen them a lot cheaper!
