is the 8210 head faulty?
is the 8210 handset faulty?
clean the contacts on the 8210 pcb
as well as tryin another board (8210/8250/5210)

hi, ive tried cleaning contacts on board, i tried an 8210 with a lower software version and that worked! however, i have now tried at least 5 different 8210's all with a version of 5.27 or above and they will not flash! the head is not faulty, neither the cable. i did try the cable on my uncles computer and that does work! so i think its down to my computer! does any one no how to solve this?
cheers

sometimes you need to wait for a couple of seconds before turning on the phone!!
This usually causes the problem!
And also try plugging in charger instead of turning on!!
It works better like this!

Make sure your LPT port is ECP in bios as sergo_zmeia said, also are you using Win2k or XP? Can cause bizzare problems!!!;)

Hi!
The LPT port voltage is around 12 volts I think put it's does not imortant couse the flasher cable is made with HC mos chip which
works with 3V and up...so try set LPT to ECP mode and post results.

You can download a BIOS program from the Laptops manufacturer website normally! This will allow you to set the bios from Windows!!!;)

The phone cant be bust if you can flash it on another PC it must be the way the software is setup on ure PC!!
Double check that you haven't got any printer programmes running in the background this would effect the flasher as they both use the LTP!!!

Again, Make sure you're not using Win2K\xp, if you are you need Userport! Also make sure you have the correct port set in both Rolis Flasher and\or in Userport!!!;)

Try the cable on to another PC. Your paralel port may have weak current.

also check the pins on your 8210 connector are not pushed in..
i remember some 8210 over a few momth that had weird fitted cases also, pins would not contact PCB cos of moulded part on phone..
instead of power on, try plug charger in..

My first post. I'm a Newbie.
Have you tried un-installing the software from your PC?
Un-install Software
Re-boot PC
Re-install Software
Re-boot PC
Also try to disconnect any peripherals connected to your LPT port
at first. Connect only the flash cable.
Then try if it works! I hope it does!

Its not the software, its ok with other phones, the 3330 does the same on two different pc's with different flash leads.i think the phone has gone to Nokia Heaven :)
