I am wondering what is the best way to clean water damaged phones. I am trying methylated alcohol right now and it does not seem to work. I am going to try it in an ultrasonic shaker next. Any more suggestions?
Also I am wondering the way to easiest and most efficiently to fix NO SERVICE phones, (software change, carrier change, or cutting the cage) any suggestions here?
Thanks for everyones input!

Please check on old post about this sort of thing as it has been covered many times (use the seach button), any way there is no 100% way of fixing a water damaged phone as you never know how bad the damage is, what most do is clean the board, dry it with hot air, reflow things like flash ic, cobba etc etc try a software up/down grade and hope for the best, as for no service, same sort of thing reflow/reheat and try again.
If this still don't work then it time for chip change.

You probably have to soak it for about 1 day or 2!
Meths worked with mine!
Just check that it isn't damaging the board etc, and scrub it with a brush of some king from time to time!
That should clean it!
Then do what Lonegunman said, reheat/reflow!

yeah, but the wages you could earn in 2 days working for maccy d's would buy a better phone anyways..

Fifteen minutes or so will suffice for soaking! The purpose of soaking the board in Meths is to soften the corrosion on the board! Follow this basic tutorial:
Submerge the board in the meths with the RF shields taken off, for 20 mins! After that take it out and run under a cold tap, then using a bowl full of water with washing up liquid scrub the board firmly but carefully with a tooth brush! Go in all directions! You should scrub on both sides for a total of about 10 mins! Run under tap again thoroughly, and using a hair dryer, set it to the lowest blow mode, but highest heat! slowly run the air over the board twice each side! when thats done, lie the hardryer down and lie the board down flat with the RF shield side up! Allow the hot air to blow OVER the board not directly at it for a further 7-8mins! Allow to cool for 15mins and try it in the phone! Don't forget to replace the RF Shields if it works!!!
