Yes, all 33xx phones have a seperate speaker and a buzzer for SMS & ringtones!! The buzzer may have broken or become detached from the circuit board!!

presume the buzzer is on the circuit board somewhere, do you know offhand whereabouts, sounds like i'm going to have to replace it somehow!! unfortunately i haven't got another one handy to examine first

I think that as you look at the front of the phone it's on the right hand side!!! But you you will see 2 or 3 small slots in the external casing about a third of the way from the bottom of the phone...this is where the sound for the SMS and ringtones comes out, it will be on the circuit board behind there!

hiya guys....maybe u should try to do some soldering job....

take out the PCB....look for the "N400" (near to buzzer contact points, with 10 legs on each side.) then u look again on the "N400" Right hand side...from the top u count....until the FIFTH leg.....then use a hairline wire to join the FIFTH leg...to the buzzer contacts(on the PCB,not to the BUZZER!!!) on the NEGATIVE point. Try it...it works 100%........cheers!;)

I HAD REPAIR THAT KIND OF PROBLEM

ON THE K.PAD INTERFACE IC,THE ONE THAT LIGHTS THE
LED,VIBRA AND RINGER, LOOK FOR THE 6TH PIN THEN USE JUMPER
WIRE TAPPING ON THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE BUZZER,
THE LOGIC OF THIS SOME BOARDS LOOSES ITS CONNECTION
GOING TOWARD THE BUZZER,GUD LUCK:)

hi, if u have a multimeter you can follow the circuit to the buzzer to see if any connections are broken, you may just need to do some solder rework. i have heard that sometimes when people flash there phones or update/downgrade they lose sound, but this may not be your case. good luck
