Unlocked incorrectly or Blocked?

hi all,

I have an 8310 which i recently unlocked, the problem is this...

When it has a T-mobile UK sim card in it i can not make any calls (just get '3 step' tone) and when someone tries to ring the phone they get message from operator saying 'calls are not currently being connected to this number' or something like that. yet when the sim card is in another phone (3310) all is ok.......

Has something gone wrong or is the phone blocked??

sounds like ur phone is barred from the network m8. have u tryed another sim from another operator?. if u get the same the chances are its barred.

Any ideas why you were blocked mate? Because you unlocked it or...?

(I didn't think they could detect unlocked phones?)

no i bought it through one of the free ad papers but didnt get a sim card for a couple of weeks (the reason i bought it was because i lost mine....doh!) but when i came to put the sim card in it said enter restriction code.....got the code in and then this fault with no calls in or out,


looks like i got done......oh well i'm sure that i will be able to unblock it one day

Maybe slip of finger when you were typing, but for you to unblock the phone, wouldn't that mean you have to get the network to allow you back on the network?

Maybe I'm just getting confused but I thought blocking was when your sim/imei was not allowed on a network (or all networks), locking was when your phone was locked to a certain network?

Could someone knock some sense into me ;)

no slip of finger.......

i brought the phone from 'some random guy' in the ad-mag.

he showed it me working then, but i have a feeling he has claimed for it and got it disconnected.....a scam used quite a lot these days...

and anyway when i put the codes in it said 'code accepted'


I got the codes from uniques website and i thought there were 7 codes but on his site there are only 2....... :confused:

But anyway will one of the other codes allow me to make and recieve calls????? who knows???

the site only gave 2 cos usually the 1st and 7th code work so theres no need to give all 7. looks like u did get don.. altho try fonin the guy n see..

i thought of this one already but i dont have the copy of admag with it in. and its too much aggrovation chasing it when i will someday be able to unblock it.....i'll just wait, i've got enough phones to keep me going in the meantime
