I have an 8850 which has a couple of problems.

First of all, The Micropohone doesn't work for sum reason, so others cant hear u but u can hear them however wen using a handsfree it works fine.

And 2nd the slider doesnt "auto keylock" or unlock and doesnt answer calls automatically when opened.

1 thing i noticed, the 2 pins that touch the slider,

On the main board they are still attached but are moving up and down loosely,...

Not sure if this is normal nd if this is causing the problem.

Can any1 help?

Thxz

can you post some pictures of the 8850? i think it might be a 8210 changed to an 8850

or the cover has been changed - uncorrectly

No, its not an 8210 conversion. It is an original 8850.

What do you mean the cover has been put on incorrectly - what is the "correct" way?

As i said are the two pins to the lower-right of the PCB supposed to be loose or not?

The Microphone contacts are touching the two pins properly, but i don't know if the mic itself is working, but i think the problem might be the 2 pins on PCB?

how long have you had the phone for?
do you know if the cover is genuine?

the slide not autolocking problem could be the blue tab on the side of the phone, that needs to be replaced

I am fixing it 4 sum 1 else.

I have got 2 housings, 1 original and 1 non original,

I rebuilt it with the original Housing...

Where is the blue tab? On PCB not on housing...

its on the PCB
it should be obvious, if your looking at it now and you can't see it (with slider off) then that is the problem, if you can see if try pressing it does it show auto keylock option on the screen?

if it doesn't then you will need to obtaian a new switch and solder it on

No, pressing it down didnt help.

It seems to be soldered on fine though.

It is the other one i am worried about - The black /gold contacts opposite the blue switch you are talking about, That one is as loose as hell.

Scratch that!!!

ACtually I found that pressing the blue switch does make the autolock feature work, But it doesn't work with the slider?

Also wat bout the Mic?

think you just might need a new slide then
