i have read many times with regards to 3310 to 3330 upgrading with mixed infos. some say it can't be done and some say it can.

now, 3310 has a flash id of 898890 with address range of 200000-400000. 7110 also has a flash id of 898890 but with a flash range of 200000-600000.

so, where did the 400000-600000 of the 3310 go?

any info is greatly appreciated

You have to change the flash chip.

Most of Nokias 3310 have 16Mb flash and can't be upgraded into 3330 without changing the flash, but I heard that there were some 3310 phones with 32Mb flash (just like 3330) in my country and could be changed to 3330 without hardware changes, but I haven't got any of that model in my hands.

Now I'm thinking about changing 3330 to 3315 (technicaly 3310).
I would be pleased for help...

Best Regards...

so, i guess the people who posted about their success in upgrading 3310 to 3330 must have that particular hardware. lucky them... ;-)

thank for your reply all

Hi all, I'mknew to this but when i cross referenced my 3310 flash id (I think thats what its called) I found a number which gave as an ALIAS the same flash id as my 3330 which is 32Mb Intel.....

Could someone explain please, does this mean I can upgrade from the 3310 to 3330?

This alias is number for type, they could be the same for 3310 & 3330.

However the sizes are different:
3330 = 32 Mbits = 4 MBytes
3310 = 16 Mbits = 2 MBytes
