Hiya guys

Ok PLEASE PLEASE try and help me on this one :(

Im really stuck

Firstly i have the following:

http://www.incredible-devices.co.uk/products/smartcard/smart_programmers.html

101-013 - PHOENIX/SMARTMOUSE - £15.00+VAT
This is my programmer - with it i have succesfully read my KI and IMSI using cardinal - sim_scan didnt want to work....

I then tried to use CARDMASTER to write my two hex files

BUT NO...

Tried several different programs on net and NONE can write or for that matter READ information from my card - seems strange :(

They just DONT want to write to it
Tried changing my jumper - dunno what the hell it does but ive changed it and still nothing

Im getting frustrated - just spent 5 hours trying to figure it all out

Tried on windoze 98 and windoze 2k Pro...

PLEASE PLEASE people post a quick guide if you can spare the time
:)

Kind Regards
Desperate Mike

hi,
which card you want to program?? if this is a funcard you can not program with your programmer.
Try the software ChipCat 3.0, work well.
Also , i think your card is dead!!

got to www.simemu.com and follows the instructions to program your card with your programmor and ICprog.

good luck.

Cheers dude for the reply - much appreciated :D

Ok i am using the GOLD cards

I can read KI no probs and IMSI

Ok but now i have made my Hex's i have trouble following the tutorials on net to copy them to my sim :S

All plugged into my pc but not working

Tried LOTS of software including the software u mentioned

But NONE of them acknowledge that my sim writer is attached :(

So i basically spent £50 for nothing :p

Ah well if you can help me figure it out i would be most appreciated

I have tried on all 3 of my pc's

AMD xp2000 - 768mb - 2k
Dual celeron 500mhz - 400mb - 2k
celeron 366mhz - 80mb - win98

All just DONT work

I have on my 2k machines installed the driver for IC Prog but nope still nothing

I am followng the guide here:
http://www.freewebs.com/gsminfo/gsmcloning.htm

I have got upto ***STEP 7*** no problem but once i have to start burning that where the troubles start :(

PLEASE PLEASE help

I can WRITE with my sim reader yes?

Its the Phoenix/smartmouse one on www.incredible-devices.co.uk

Thank you
Mike

Which one would be best out of the ones available from www.incredible-devices.co.uk please?

Cheers all for your time

One question,
I followed your first link and it says that the the programmer is sold without the crystals,
did you buy the crystals and fixed them to the programmer,
if not the programmer wouldn't work

I forgot one thing
this programmer doesnt program the PIC (16f84) it only programs the eeprom (24lc16)

for very good information check the smartmouse phoenix at this location

I too have just started out with all this SIM cloning stuff. I bought a Phoenix type smart card reader/writer in kit form from Jaycar and built it myself. Apparently, after I read the documentation that came with the kit, my device can only program the EEPROM of smartcards.

Anyway I still tried to write the PIC to a silvercard using IC Prog. It sent all the data to my device, but when I read it back it was still just all blank. And basically, you gotta program the PIC first, then you can use a Phoenix or other device to program the EEPROM.

I've read on other boards that Dejan's simple PIC Card shematic ( http://www.net.yu/~dejan ) can write the PIC of a wafer. It's only a bunch of resistors and a few diodes and capacitors, so it wont be expensive nor too hard to make. I haven't actually made it myself, well not yet at least, cos I got my mid year uni exams happening, but I reckon this is the fix.

Oh yeah, if you want to use SimEmu, you should use a Sivercard, not Gold.
