Mbus / Flasher schematic question

ok im quite proficient in electronic so this is abit embarrassing for me but can someone please tell me what component this is? I can't for the life of me identify it. Ive circled it in the attachment....

just a guess but i think it is a switching diode

It's a Zener diode !

All it does is regulate or restrict the voltage across it to 3.9 volts..
