battery temperature

hi.
in net monitor, test 20 & 23, the batt temperature is shown in Celcius. is it true that the battery works better in temperatures between +20 and +35?

Although everyone says that batteries work better at cooler places, I don't think that this is perfectly true. Here in Delhi, the temperature is around 42% on an average. Bareilly, the city where my parents live has a average temperature of 28% and I find no difference in my battery conditions there compared to Delhi even in a span of 20 to 30 days.

at extremes of temperature, batteries do not function.

however at higher temperatures, they have a greater internal resistance across which to develop a voltage.. so they output better.

when charging, you dont want a high internal resistance, so a cool battery will charge better. of course, charging heats the battery.. heh so there ya go..

let it run warm while discharging, and keep it cooler when charging..

Ni-MH batteries warm while charged.
Li-Ion don't. what about them?

I found while playing football in the snow or keeping your phone inside your drysuit while sailing my battery drops VERY quick.:confused:

The screen is also very slow. Maybe a small heater that would heat your hand and the phone..... but that would only waste your battery too. But its a nice idea, you could heat your food and fry eggs on it also.

Who needs a camera in your phone?!? Get a cooker!
