View Full Version : So FAID/MCU checksum must be patched on _all_ 3410 flashes inc. Backups?

(I don't actually have a backup, but I'm gonna get a 3410 flash cable to do so)

Even my backup? Before flashing, I always advise taking a backup. However, since the 3410 FAID can't be set correctly, it must be killed (using Nfader's 1.4 support)

Then that can be reflashed (and providing the FAID has been set once using Rolis/Knok) it's ready to go?

When taking a backup with Knok, I don't need to backup the Eeprom do I? I'm uploading a combined MCU+PPM --> FLS (By w2d), so that means I only need to backup MCU/PPM

<EDIT>Now using nasNFCon since it actually works (I can't get w2d to work :( )</EDIT>

(In knok, this is just "Read flash", not "Read Fullflash"?)

The procedure to flash 3410 is the same as 3310/3330.
First, make full backup, incl. eeprom
Second, flash it with fls file, you want
Third, update FAID
I personally flashe and upgraded 3 3410, and all feel itself gog and work perfect.
Basically, The 3410 is the same as 3310/3300

Okay, thanks for your input.

If you could, what programs would you recommend for the process above.

I would use:

knok (For backing up and for flashing)
NokTools by Rolis (For updating FAID)

(P.S. However, for uploading modified flashes, DEADFAID is pretty much the only way to go :) )

For flashing I use Noki v7.2 from www.vilani.com
Tis prog runs fine under WinXP (do not forget to set correctly Compatibility in prog properties tab - to win98/Me)
For the rest (FAID, unlock) - Nokia Tool 1.9

Cheers Coronator but I use a decent OS (XP < 2k Pro, sorry :D), no compatability on 2k. I'll dual boot in a couple of weeks when I get round to formatting, then I'll take a look at the prog you suggested :)
