there is a software called psmplayer (actually for samsung phones) which i used to make loud midi ringtones for my t720 - and they are really loud!
here's a link for the software found by a google search:

just open the midi file with psmplayer, open the volume settings dialog, adjust the settings and play it. once you're happy with the volume save it as either midi or imy format, then download it to your phone with MBE and PST.
the ringtones can be very loud that now i have to set my volume to less than 7.
