They dont work on normal networks so there is nothing to unlock them to not until the other networks bring them out.

these phones will work on other networks, but you will lose the video call feature, and three will unlock them for you for £15

??? absolutely not correct!!

its declared standard that all 3G (3rd generation = UMTS) phones shall work on 2G (2nd generation = GSM) too!! the NEC e606 does this. the siemens Axxx (dont know exactly) doesn't... if nokia will do??!?!?!

so they also work with gsm simcards and mms and all the other features (except video-telephony) will work too...

if anyone knows how to unlock (should be a normal DCT4 standard)... let us know
thnx

Sorry to cut into someone else's thread, but i want to get one of these phones here in Australia, only problem is i dont know if i will be able to connect up to 3G yet, as i am 17 and my mum has bad credit, i turn 18 in november though so its no biggie. I just wanted to know what i miss out on, on 2G networks? video calling of course, video message? can i still capture pictures and record video? and i can still personalise it with the wallpapers and poly ringtones via the usb cable? thanks again

and its good to be back :D

Can anyone tell me whether their phone locks up during some tasks? Such as trying to delete SMS mssgs from the memory?

whats the point of unlocking it? if the video feature wont work on GSM (2G) Nets?the video feature is only 3 G! does anyone know if once unlocked will it work on 1800MHz(Orange&T-Mobile)? 1900MHz (US & Canada nets) or is its 2G part only 900MHZ (o2 & Voda) ?

if its unlocked it will work in any GSM (900 & 1800Mhz) and UMTS (~1900 to ~2200Mhz) network...
but it wont work in TCDMA (cingular, AT&T,...) networks

I want to unlock it as it is 'pay as you go' and the video conference is cr@p and 3g signal is cr@p. when I drive around Kent and London I hardly ever have 3g signal so I might as well unlock it and put the companys sim in (it looks better than their 3310). I can still download the videos to the PC and E mail them to who ever wants a poor quality video. The camcorder on the 7650 has better quality and FPS..
