:) Yes, it is.

But It's only one operator (No.1 market share 50%) check IMEI because the airtime in Thailand is cheap (or not???). In local area outgoing call is 3 Bath/min (Normally 45 Baht/ $US) and it is not charged for incoming call so mobile phone is very expensive (the operators would like to make profit) :)

@...mycomms & sonicdeejay

As I told u that the only one operator (GSM900) still check IMEI so u have to use specified IMEI which it is legally imported (pay tax) or some IMEI which is reserved for test. The others (GSM1800) don't check IMEI so u can bring any mobile phone (GSM1800) to use in Thailand (must no SP Lock)

I don't understand 'Hp' (I think u mean mobile phone). If u would like to bring foreign mobile to use in Thailand, depend on u'll use what operator which are

1. GSM 900 (only one operator 'AIS') u have to change IMEI (include SP lock) in order to use with AIS simcard.
2. GSM 1800 (DTAC, GSM1800 and TA Orange operator) u can bring to use with their simcard immediately without changing IMEI (but must do have SP Lock)

I don't sure that I understand ur question correctly. Please tell me if not.

1. Yes, u r right.
2. I'm not sure that the foreign mobile is locked or not (I think it should be). If it is, u have to unlock (SP Lock) in order to use with their simcard

1. since I changed my hp IMEI to another hp's IMEI which it is legally imported ...so they are having same IMEI,AM i right? What if we use 2 AIS sim cards to "ON" both mobil phones.what will hapeen?

2. since I changed my hp IMEI to another hp's IMEI which it is legally imported ...so they are having same IMEI,AM i right? MY HP MUST USE THE SIM which has been using with the imported mobil ..or I can use any AIS sim cards on my phone??

:)

Hi again...

1. Actually,I think every operators can scan IMEI to check the repeat IMEI. Once AIS checked IMEI user by random and called to them "U did't use our phone(legally phone, IMEI for test), so u had to change to ours within 15 days. If not, we may cut out of service" It's very funny for me 5555. I still have not known whom be cut. Many users still use the same IMEI especilally IMEI for test.

2. U can use any AIS simcard to ur phone.

Where r u now? I'll go to Singapore next month so I would like to know the mobile shopping place (I want to buy only phone, not sim). If u know, please let me know. Thanx

:)

hi basten :) i think u did not realli understand what i had asked u about. Lets make it more simple for u to understand.

For example : i have a N3310 which carries an IMEI number

350101-63-12345-6 <----- this is my phones original IMEI.

in order to use the (GSM 900) TH AIS line....i have to change the IMEI rite ? So .... is there any way that i can know what IMEI to change to ? i am really puzzled.... i will be glad if u can share the imei number with me..hahah :P

:) Hi...mycomms

OK.It's right. If u would like to use GSM900 (TH AIS) in Thailand, u have to change ur IMEI phone. For what IMEI number which u have to change, they are 2 ways :

1. If u know someone who use GSM900 in Thailand and have mobile phone bought from AIS, u can copy its IMEI to change ur phone. It may have 1 IMEI, 2 phones but it's not serious. U can use ur mobile phone with AIS simcard now.

2. U can change to IMEI for test which can use any operators in Thailand. This way is very...very popular in Thailand. I think 1 IMEI is used more than 10,000 mobile phone. Of course, u can use it too. Yes, I can share the IMEI for test which are 446790401930415 & 448835071407810 etc. I give to u 2 IMEI code, it's enough to use more than 20,000 phones. 5555

BTW, where r u now? I'll go to Singapore next month so I would like to know the mobile shopping place (I want to buy only phone, not sim). If u know, please let me know. Thanx :)

Hi Basten,
I also deal with mobile phones, if you know s'pore, I'm at the "little thailand area". From what I heard is, only for prepaid card it's open for any phone and it's not for the whole of Thailand, right?
So now what you are saying is, even registered users can use phones from other country?
Hmmm... is that is so, this will be great for all of you Thai, don't need to spend a forture on a Nokia again.:)

Hi Mycomms,
I believe you're SG right, (you're using the famous "lor" word.):)
I'm wondering why are there so many people here that don't like to fill in their country?
Anyway, I'm at Goldenmile tower. If you know me, please let me know. You know how small SG is.:)
And, one more thing, anything personal or questions not regarding the thread, please make it at the lounge or by PM_ing would be better. (No Hard feelings, hope you all understand, keep by the rules.):D :D :D
