I know im talking about a reverse procedure here .
but I'm wondering if theres a way to use my cable connection at my house via my bluetooth or IR connection to browse WAP pages on my cell?
I dont have reception inside my house and it would be nice to be able to get media while at home though.
Is this possable?

-Conection sharing works great with my DSL conection shared with the 3650. For it you only have to read about how to use your bluetooh device.

Yeah how did you used your PC's internet connection to your phone? That would be way cool if it's really possible... And you said you're using bluetooth connection right? What brand?

Probably you have set a default access point for your email account. You should set it on the dummy one as well.

i've set it to use the dummy APN.
what i notice was it tries to connect using the network but since there's almost no cellphone signal in the place i'm using it (in a shielded area,so no cellphone signal, but there's a pc and an internet connetion) the response i get was " no network coverage" eventhough the APN was the dummy one.
same for doris browser, it doesn't work. it just prompt "connecting to..." then "loading" then nothing happens.

Thats exactly my problem now. it doesnt do this before but i noticed last night i can connect but it keeps asking me to choose the access point to connect, even if I have set Doris to always choose that apn. Weird. WHy is the bluetooth connection being lost?

I would try the following:
Setup some kind of perm connection application such as an IM client or IRC, maybe even an FTP client so it will keep a TCP port open via the mrouter, then load your web/email/whatever client and try... with a little luck the soft will recognise the dummy connection in use and will not ask again...
Haven't tested it myself, but it sounds promising doesn't it?

This might be a stupid question but i don't unserstand a few things:
1) Why would you want to use internet on phone via pc??? isn't it a lot more comfortable to use the internet on pc itself especially since you are dependent on the pc for the connection!!
2) If you have gprs connection why do you need to connect with pc for internet?? doesn't gprs provide an always on internet connection to the phone.
3) To me it would make more sense to use the gprs of phone to browse internet on my laptop.. anyone got idea how to do that??
Please somebody make me more knowledegable.

1) you might want to play an online game on ur phone or you use your phone for emails and you like to keep all your emails on a single device.
2) lol do you realise how much gprs costs? Here in australia on vodafone, not on a gprs plan (save some dollars), it's about $20 AU per megabyte!
3) you would have to set up pc suite, connect to the phone and use the nokia modem drivers and set it all up...i'm sure if you search around the forums a bit, you will find out how to do this.

@smish
Thanks for your response, it was helpful. I read somewhere that you still pay for gprs cost if you connect to internet using your pc connection, but obviously that can't be true as it seems a lot of people use net on their phone this way.
Thanks anyway
