Hey,

I have my combi cable working, but there is a problem. I want to remove the lock to put another sim in it, but when I connect to the Mbus and read phone info I can see there are no locks.

When I turn my phone on as usual and I had put a sim of another provider in it I can only recieve 2 networks (KPN and Vodafone -> Netherlands). I want the network of for example Ben, so it does not work.

What am I doing wrong. Cables are working fine (I can read phone info and I can flash with the flash cable).

I there a sollution so I can use al providers there are.

What phone is it??

If it is a single band phone then it may not pickup networks that work on the GSM band!

It is a Nokia 6110 5.48

The solution is to buy dual band phone as the 6110 is only a single band phone 900Mhz.

@TUDstudentje

ben etc(everything except KPN en Voda)
work on 1800 Mhz and so you must use dualband mobile phone. (or triband of course)

Well I don't understand compleetly, because I have unlocked a 6210 and put the same sim in it and it worked.

So, why doesn't this one work?

Btw do you mean the 6110 works on dual or do you mean all other providers except KPN and Vodafone uses single band

A 6110 is a single and dual band phone. So it has to work with both networks

Basically GSM phones either work on 900 or 1800 mhz in europe etc.
Some networks work on the 900 and some on 1800, nearly all phones nowadays are dual band so that companies like nokia only have to produce one model of that phone rather than one for each band.
Older phones had to be one or the other as the technology hadn't been mass produced at that time.

There will be two types of 6110 one for each band!

6110 is still only for 900MHz.
6150 is dualband, 900MHz & 1800MHz.

And the 6130 is 1800Mhz

If I flash my 6110 to 6150 which is possible, can I then use both bands.

I now this upgrade by software is possible, but if I can use dual band, I don't now.

Afraid not mate, to make it dual band would need some hardware changing........

Yep, hardware changing required.

I really think all this different banding is annoying, anyone care to explain the reasoning behind it?

I guess it's to do with bandwidth and different carrier signals...still: "Can't we all just...get along?"

Cheers
