If you have an alternate programme such as Audiorack 32 that had the ability to save in 8 bit 22kHz format of WAV then the sound comes out AMAZINGLY CLEAR and the size is also small!!!
I use this combination and my friends always comment me on the sound quality for such a small WAV file. For 20 seconds the file size would be Approx. 250kb which is nothing compared to other format combinations. :D :D :D -=UtseenO=-
Plz let me know if you try this combination and like it, although im quite sure you will do;)
I down loaded audiorack 32 from this link .http://incolor.inetnebr.com/jshorney/piper/audrak32.zip as i was reading the readme file i notice is a very old program and it was made for windows 95.
my question is can this program work with windows xp?
and if not do you know of any good wav editor for xp.
at the moment i'm using sound forge 6.0 but it wont let me compress the wav file.

I installed Audiorack in my PC running WinME. No problem so far. But this program has no provision to convert wav files, it only edit the volume, length and some few items like adding echo, etc.
He just wanted someone to try it on win XP :-)

Right. Basically what you have to do is play the current wav on some other programme and then o to new on audioracks DAT recorder which records WAV's, then set the settings that I said before and then play the wav on the other programme whilst quickly pressing record on Audiorack and bobs your uncle, you have your new WAV file!
P.s. Audiorack works perfectly well on all OS, including XP which is what I am running on ;)

All 3rd party program for Wav converter are all the same... :P anyway, the best way to convert bitrate for wav is use the sound recorder that comes along with windows 9x or xp, Just put the wav and edit and save as a file using the /15k .. The wav files are very good at this stage and have a nice quality also, and convertion is at 500k per minute.
