could someone tell me the srat and end address for an 8250 PPM and MCU file, the reason is because i edited the full flash file and i think i have messed up the eeprom and it shows "contact service" at random times

i have tryed flashing my modified flash file then the 8250 virgin eeprom with no success.

i have also use eepromtools with no success as well. i would really like to fix this problem as it always shows contract service at the most unappropraite times!

You can use Knok and read the MCU and save as fls, then do the same with PPM. (they are saved to Knok root folder)

Load them both with Rolis, click the arrow pointing up then save as 8250mcu_ppm.fls or whatever.

To stop your flash from getting corrupt you may as well get the latest version and start from scratch.

Get it from here:

I have also upgraded an 8210 to 8250.

Read my post in this thread to get a fully working version:
http://nokiafree.org/forums/t34199/sd10a2220723a54e9a3037568603b5c32.html

If that doesnt work you must have a hardware fault.

Huh? thats the software i've had for ages.

Where do you read the flash file address's?
With gnolite?
I have tried to real lots of versions of 8250 with it but it doesnt find all the menus, so I dont know what to input into the sec code program.

Which 8250 firmware do you use?

in genolite 1.7
chose "menu structure"
tick "menu structure"
type "ENGL" in Language box
and click read.

copy and paste the line which reads messages and security menu

is this what you are stuggling on?

Hi Wai,
Thanks for the info about gnolite :)
Can read the menu structure now (with the description next to it), but cant get it to put the sec code on messages??
I'll get it to work though with a bit of messing around.

Hey Knok build 1 works fine with 8250.
I'm not sure about other versions but would have thought they will work with it too.
