Hi all,
Well, I thought I would be behind the 8 ball without data cables to unlock my 3310, as I only had the flasher cable(the ones that plug into the LPT port of your PC)
I am relieved to say that it CAN be done, maybe not as easy as using datacables, but still manageable for anyone but the newest of newbies.
Anyway, I used KNok build 22, on Windows 2000, took a total backup of my phone first(Highly recommended). Then flashed with a 'good' 3310-424.fls file, and hey presto it worked after doing it about 3 times. Not sure why, maybe I didn't have the correct start address in the first couple of times I did it, as my phone was dead the first time, and 'contact service' the next. Full restore took care of that though.
So I now know it can be done, and the software is very easy to operate.
The only thing that worried me was all the dodgy hex numbers, menus etc that came up on the screen, however quicky worked out that was the net monitor. Disabled that and phone was good as new. Anyone know what that is for anway? It was all gobbleydegook to me.
Anyone needs a hand to do this, let me know..
Thanks to everyones' posts on this forum, I think I have read every one of them about 4 times, to get 'up to speed' on the whole unlocking scenario.
All the best
