please help: preloader boot error

Hi,

I just got myself a flasher kit and I am having some troubles with it.

I can flash my 5110 mcu + ppm fine with no problems.

When I use the 8210/8250 attachment whenever I try to flash (using rolis v4.78 ) I usually get the error "preloader boot error". Sometimes (not very often) I won't get this error and I'll be able to flash my 8210.

Using the 8210 attachment on the serial data cable lead is fine and I can update faid and clear locks etc...

I can't deduce that anything is wrong with the 8210 attachment or with the serial or parallel leads as each of them works in different combinations.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you go about resolving this issue?

Yep, get it all the time!!! Make sure the atachment is secure (Try tightening the two screws so they're shorter!) it should make a click sound, also ensure the conections are clean and that power is off in the phone! Just takes persistence!;)
