MiniGPS runs a process in the background when I boot phone

Hi,

I have Appman.. and I looked to see what processes were running after I just turn on the phone. MiniGPS has a process called MiniGPSexe.exe running even though I hadn't clicked on the icon to run the program yet.

Anyone else notice this?

I have had problems with my phone spontaneoulsy turning off. And so far, I immediately kill the MiniGPS process and I haven't seen my phone turn off by itself anymore.

All I know is that the MiniGPS app is on because it has to know and alert you when the cell changes...
But i cant solve your problem. Sorry.

So.. it stays on all the time? I thought that it would stay on only if I started up the program... why does it stay on no matter whether I boot the program or not.

Will the autoexec/startup programs let me fix it so that MiniGPS doesn't automatically start up?

Why do you even want to have the miniGPS installed if you dont want to use it...?

It doesnt take up much memory when it is "secretly open"...
As I said it is only there to recognize the cells...

Uninstall the whole thing!

i want to use it.. but right now, I think it's operation is shutting down my phone involuntarily. :/

I think most Psiloc program is running in background eating up memory, so that programs like Opera can not be run :mad:

The reason is, it hav to, to work!

MiniGPS: You can add events. When you walk into a area, the profile is changed for instance. If you have to first start miniGPS there is no point in this function. It runs in background so it can run the events without needing you to start the program first.

The same applies to Screensaver and Extended profiles etc. You don't want to start a program everytime you want the screensave to run...
