Nokia 8850 No reception what so ever

I managed to get hold of a nokia 8850 absolutely mint condition quite cheap £20 the only thing is its got no reception no matter what sim card i use could it be bared ,need a flash any idea's guys

I also noticed if i put a sim in and leave the phone on for a while it kinda reboots every so often by its own could that point to the symptom.:(

sounds like the phone's software has been upgraded and the FAID has not been set, get hold of a mbus cable and download noktools by rolis 1.9, reset faid, if that does not work then try modifying the R/F switch!
