View Full Version : 8310 DEAD after Flashing MCU & PPM

Hi guys....

This has been an interesting 'routine' flash.. we've got an 8310 originally on v5.11, not locked to any network, although no matter which SIM was placed in it, it could not for the love of god dial out or do anything basically other than 'accept' incoming calls (nothing was barred).

A quick Full Flash of the MCU & PPM c should've have sorted it as per usual. Not the case. After flashing the same version 5.11 back to it, it would not turn on at all. Battery charged, SIM in or out... nothing. :(

We've tried all variants of 8310 Firmware, all the way to 6.20 and nothing. We've got all the correct FIA files, etc... this is just kicking us silly. We are now to presume the Eprom Boot Loader has failed somewhere down the line (could've been an actual Hardware fault to begin with?)... but we've never attempted a Boot Load or Eprom Fix. If this will sort it, how the hell do you do it and with which kit?

We currently have a DCT4 Full Flasher Kit and all the gubins, but nothing relating to Eprom or other. We are really asking about the Eprom and Boot Loader part of it - how do you do that?

For those in the know... we only had the display show "Local Mode" once, then never again. Sorry for such a long-winded message, hope you can help us on this one.
