I have just bought a Nokia 6610. On comparing with a friend's 6610 i found that the contrast of my phone is too low (even at the default level and minimum level of brightness). The colours are not good enough. Both the phones are manufactured on 14/04/03 v4.74. Please help how can i rectify this.

Am not happy with the display.
thanks

Don't panic. This is common. The display contrast of LCDs of even same makes are different. Faint screen problem is very common in series 40 phones (i.e. 6610/7210/7250). So just increase the contrast a little bit. The contrast gets dark by itself sometimes. It's just temporary

Both the phones are manufactured on 14/04/03 v4.74.
The date you are talking about is actually the firmware release date. And that v4.74 is the firmeware version.

i dont think there is anything you can do about that, unless you sell the phone (like i did :D ). 6610 was a nice phone, DAM shame about the screen, i could never see anything on the screen during the day

If you think that your phone screen is very dark then you should get it changed if you can.

Your PM's answer:
What I meant by saying this problem is temporary is that my mobile (also 6610) too gets dark at times. It appears to loose it's color depth and the screen faints. At times black lines also seem to be floating on the screen. But this is temporary as it becomes normal after some time. This problem is very common in 40 series phones, I told you.

One more thing. High screen brightness shows good color depth when seen from front. If you bend the phone a little, it shows less color depth from profiles in comparison to low brightness.
