icon guide?

can someone help me in using photoshop for creating icons? i saw some cool icons that i want to use for my phone but don't know how to make one....:confused:

i used icon cool editor (did a search with google and that came up) all I did then was open the icon with cool editor and saved them in .jpg format, worked fine

is it possible to use this in making the mask?

i don't think so..

btw ..to make masks:

open the icon with photoshop (4 ex.) ,edit it in the right size (42x29 px), add a layer and zoom too much as u can.

now u have to paint over with black...just follow the image in the original layer
then save both the mask and the icon.
