hi to all!

ive bought a cable for my 3210 v5.10. it has 9 holes for my computer and 4 pins for the phone.

i wonder if i could flash my 3210 with this cable. i tried several flashing programs like rollis and it says power on phone while knox says connot prepare phone. if it is possible to flash my phone using the said cable please email me. thanks

by the way, my cable works fine for logomanager. whats this thing about external power source connected to Vpp?

u can't falsh ur phone with that cable, it's only a fbus/mbus data cable.. u need a FLASHER cable that connects to ur lpt port

its a Dejan Flasher Cable and its available at the schematics section.

i was just hoping that you have another schemtic that uses another IC aside from IC's with an HC at the middle (74HC14). the only availble IC's here in my place is those with LS in the middle like 74LS14.

and by the way, is 74HC14 the same with 74HC14N????

thanks anyway newkidtoy!

@ natnat

u can use any 7414 HC or LC doesn't make much of a difference with this type of circuit. as long as it is an OR gate IC. have made a lot of those. :)

email me if u need further assistance [email protected] :)

hi datalife!

its not an LC ic but and LS.

data life, its better if we post our questions as well as our answers here so that members could read it.

no problem m8...just go aheard and make the circuit & tell us the results...all the best.... :)

my circuit does not work!

its not possible to change the 74HC14 with 74LS14.

sometimes noktool says:

1) tx=low but received tx=high (something like this)

2) phone RAM is bad (something like this)

hi,
both 74HC14 and 74LS14 can be used for dct 3 flashing as long as you build the original design be dejan....the difference between the 2 chips mentioned was the speed design....if i recall from my basic electronics LS stands for Low Schotty(?) and HC stands for High speed CMOS... it s the speeds that matters!if you could only get that data sheet of those chips, you could see the difference....

i prefer to use the 74HC14 chip for better 3210 flashing result...
the only good thing on the design posted, for 3210 flashing, you dont need to power on the unit. ....i used rolis for my flashing SW and it works fine. as you hit the green button automatically read and write ...used breadboard for experimenting the design to avoid mistakes....

LS i think stands for low speed. and its not schotty, its schotky.

schotky, right!...have you checked out the design i've mentioned? you'll omly needing 1- 7HC14 chip,2- 1N4148 zener diodes, 1- 4.7kohms and 1- 100ohms resistors and 100nf ceramic capacitor...try to visit DEECO an Alexan at Raon... i buyed my chip from Alexan at about P20.

if you have trouble configuring out about building your own flasher, just txt me at 09185173025 and i'd be glad to help!

built my cable already and its doing fine.

thanks anyways.

HC should not be replaced with LS. they never work! the timing of the two IC's are very different. worst, it could damage your phone or your cable.....

thats good to hear!!!! happy flashing and modifying your 3210 units!

im going to make one of these, well attempt to anyway...
just wanted to know a few things 1st
Is the capacitor polarized and which way does it go round, i am unfamiliar with the symbol.
How do I connect it to the phone?
Where do I connect the grounded bits to?

Thanks

hi,

try to get a copy of the original design of flasher from dejan...you'll see the connections there...as for your inquiry, you will use a non polarized type of capacitor(ceramic disk) for the circuit.no need to worry about the wrong connections you might encountered... as for the circuit, diodes do have + and - terminals,so watch out when connecting them...for 74HC14 try to look also for the pin 1.

hope it clarifies....
