guys, is there an audio player that acts like an mp3 player. I mean just like the audio player that's already in the 3650 except that you can make a playlist like the mp3 players. I prefer the audio player that comes along with the 3650 than the mp3 players that are now available, well simply because mp3 eats more than twice the memory than the converted format for the audio player. I guess it's in .wav format. or simply a .wav player wherein you can make a playlist.

thanks rainman for replyin'... but I said I don't want an mp3 player, for mp3 is larger than the converted audio format(.wav). I hope I did explain well in my post what I want. A .wav player where you can make a playlist. not an mp3 player. thanks...

actually the mp3 compression is smaller than .wav files... that's why most portable devices are mp3 players...

actually,i can fit 3 mp3 in to a single floppy.just recompress them!it's easy...moreover,it's a phone that you are using, and it have a lower audio quality,so you can compress with settings like this:
32(or 64 if you prefer)Kb per second
16000Hz
and you will have a small mp3.:)

I don't know about that... can you pls teach me how to recompress an mp3 file...
does that mean that an mp3 file of a 4mb can be recompressed to almost 1MB for you to fit 3 mp3 files in a floppy?
coz the reason why I want a .wav player that has playlist because the 4mb mp3 can be converted to less than 2mb wav.
help guys...

a 4mb mp3 file wen converted to wav file will be about 11MB...too big! theres a program/freeware that you can use to change the bitrate of an existing mp3 file... its called CDEX... don't know the exact link, but you can search for it using yahoo or google...

i agree wt rainman...mp3 files r lower audio quality version of WAV files...meaning WAV files has a bigger size compared wt mp3 files kos its audio quality s better...f u want to make an mp3 file smaller in size den i guess convert it to a lesser audio quality(low kbps or bit rate, low in hertz)

there are many formats of wav files, for ringtones i have whole songs at better quality than my mp3s yet they are a quarter the size, you need to change the type of wav format, convert the appropriate wav file to gsm 22,000hz and on your phone it sound top qual at a quarter of the size of an mp3

for the 3650 it wont matter anyway what bitrate you choose because it wont sound that good anyway...but how were you able to do that leespud? the sound quality of a 4-5MB .mp3 is equivalent to almost 15-25MB in .wav format. have you tried playing a 2mb wav file on a stereo?...it sounds really bad.
anywayz, if you were able to do that please tell us how coz that would mean that we wouldn't have to install mp3 player on the 3650... (i still need mp3go because at least with it i have a play list)
.mp3 vs .wav is not about quality (coz u'd hardly notice it) it's about compression...

convert the mp3 to wav then open up windows sound recorder, open the file you want, the go file-properties-convert now, here select from the drop downlist format-GSM 6.10 and attributes-22,050hz then click ok, save the file from file-save as, the playback on the computer will sound slightly off putting but send it to your phone the file should be about 1mb and it sound top qual on your phone give it ago it works perfect for me

rainman,
see! that's what I'm talking about the 4MB mp3 file can be converted to a less than 2MB wav file. thanks for that leespud.
as for me... I simply did it by transferring the mp3 files from my computer to my celfone using the PC suite and in the options... all files to be converted are checked. (specially the mp3 for it to be converted to a wav file that's reduced to more than a half).
:D
