you can change the IMEI in nokia 3330 as it's dct3, use a program like Knok to do it (can be found in the downloads section).

don't forget to update faid after changing the imei.

i suggest that you check if imei changing is legal in your country, but legal or not - it's possible :)

Use Knok95
Quickset FAID, Reset User interface settings, Reset Full Factory Settings, Reset SP Locks, Set new IMEI, Use original IMEI, Quickset faid! In that order!

It's most likely not legal, so if you go ask questions people will become suspicious! What you are doing is NOT illegal, because you are not changing the IMEI, you are simply re-using the one you have!!!;)

@witchblade
FAID=Flash Authority ID, it's some kind of checksum on the phones flash, made to protect phone from being flashed. if you don't update the faid, the phone will not have signal, and it will turn off every 30 seconds.

well, that was the technical part :)
anyway, to update faid, open the Knok program, go to "Phone Settings" menu, and choose "Quick Set FAID".

you have to update faid after flashing, changing imei, unlocking and almost everything else that has something to do with the phones flash.

p.s.
like chunkhead said, restoring the original imei to the phone is not illegal, but changing the imei to something different can be illegal, depending on the country. it's illegal in most of the world.

For simplicity, use Knok to do this.

Also follow the order Chunkhead suggested, one question, why do you want to change it?

You do realise if you do change the IMEI, you are breaking the law.The only "safe " way of doing this is to use the IMEI of a DEAD phone you have.I would say its acceptable. You must however, change/remove the IMEI sticker or swap chassis. Also think about what happens if you either put your phone in for repair or you sell the phone.Your phone will be confiscated if you do not do this.

If you do go ahead and change it, be discreet!!
Do not go on ebay or similar claiming to do this, you will soon have people knocking on your door at 4am with big dogs!

In UK, maximum penalty for IMEI changing is 9 years imprisonment per phone!!

Hope this helps

9 years? Why would you get a longer imprisonment for changing a IMEI than for stealing a phone?

Just being picky - it's 5 years not 9. Minor cases have a 6 month maximum. At least owning the equipment isn't illegal - it is specificly changing (or intending to change) the IMEI. Think twice before flashing a virgin EEPROM though :D

The law (Mobile Telephones (Re-programming) Act 2002) is here (http://www.hmso.gov.uk/acts/acts2002/20020031.htm).
