I built my own Dejan Flasher using the 74HC14 chip.
Here are the steps from the start:
Plug in phone, and flasher.
Change parrallel mode to ECP
Boot up Windows 98.
Get 7 bar fls file from NokDoc.
Convert it to PPM and MCU (Wintesla) using nasDCT3 Flash Converter.
Open Nokia DCT3 flasher by Rolis Ver 4.71.
Select my mobile type (3310).
Click On Load PPM and select the PPM File.
Click on Flash.
It then says down the bottom "Wait For Power ON".
I turn the phone on.
It then says down the bottom "Wait for boot counter accept (TX=high).
That goes away after about a second.
It then says nothing down the bottom or in the main lime green box.
The phone still has no new software or anything changed.
What am i doing wrong?

I dont know what "Change parrallel mode to ECP" is?
You should load the mcu aswell as the ppm.
make sure the battery has some power in it.
try using a later version of Rolis, 4.78 serves me well.

The battery is fine.
The parallel port has different modes such as EPP, ECP etc. Im sure it has to be put on ECP but im not 100% sure.
I will try loading the MCU.
Can you send me Rolis 4.78 please?
REMOVED.
rolis can be found in download section of our forum

i flash DCT 3 and DCT 4 phones using EPP mode or Bi-directional mode.

why you convert flash to mcu & ppm when you can write it to phone straight?
i noticed some times with my spare-3310 that have to take battery out for a minute and then put it back.
not sure why, other 3310's will flash without taking battery for minute.

How do you open the fls file? just through 'Open PPM' ??

ECP Mode is the mode with least trouble! EPP will work on some setups, but SPP will definately not work!
@Kuchster: Is your phone on or off? For flashing it should be off! You are using a home built cable, which I have no experience in so I can not help you regarding this matter, but... I highly recommend buying a factory built cable! They are cheap, efficient and give no trouble! Also they come with interchangable heads to flash different phones!;)

The phone is off, and when it says "Wait for power ON", then i turn it on.
The cables are cheap? In australia they are about $200 im sure, i built mine for about, $20 or less using the dejan schematics.

never checked those menus? check options too, you may need to adjust that timing slower that your phone will be recognised.
i usually take .fls flash(or whatever that menu was)|write|(select file to be flashed)|open|ok|(power on)
with open ppm/mcu i take only original wintesla files if i want to restore phone to normal.
and program is Rolis Flasher.

So the phone must not be turned on? I press the power button, but not long enough for the phone to turn on? Is this correct?
I will have a look through the menus.

Just a suggestion... but I don't have any problems with my cables!:D
Think of it as an investment!!! Fix 3 peoples phones or do a few upgrades and they pay for themselves!!!;)

The thing is, it detects the phone, knows when i turn it on etc, so if it is faulty, its not completely faulty.
I will give the rest a try though :)
Thanks
