Well, i guess you are fed up with a buggy phone, right? Besides upgrade to a newer software version, you can also "downgrade" that 8310 to be another, and BETTER, model!
I am talking 6510 here.
All you need is a flasher cable or -box, 6510 flash files, and a 6510 LCD. The 6510 has a higher resolution display, and it gives you originally those 7 network- and battery bars. Besides it got an electronic "wallet" function, and the games are also better, part because of the higher screen resolution.
The most important is, the 6510 does NOT always reset itself or hang!
After flashing the file into the phone, you need to replace the original LCD with that of a 6510, otherwise you will be able to use the phone, but no fun... you won't see much :)

i knew it!!!

they are really the same only the ledcolour and lcd that is the change.. when i compared them.

wow! nice! now i only need an 8310 flash cable..

i got a dct3-dejan flashkit... can i buy a 8310 flash adapter for it?

or is there something that aint work with dct3 "lpt-cable"


the one im talking about is this.

i've got this Nokia Flasher-Kabel Dejan (for 3210 / 3310 / 6110 / 5110 / 6210 /
7110 / 8210 / 8850 universal)

and there is an adapter there called Nokia Flasher-Kabel 8310/6510,

i mailed the store and asked but they didnt know... ;(

The 8310 is a "DCT-4" phone, as far as i know, these can NOT be flashed with a DCT-3 flash kit or box. I guess you have to get a DCT-4 flasher dongle at least....
Sorry i do NOT understand swedish :) My languages are english, german and (spoken only!) vietnamese......
Yes, you have been right... Hardware of 8310 and 6510 is identical except the LCD, and there is another phone that is identical: The 6500. It has also the same LCD as a 8310, but it adds an active flip cover. The hardware for this "external device" is present in a 8310 and 6510 as well, you need only a 6500 flashfile to use it :)

Do you have any scheme on building an dct-4 flasher..?

Does anyone of the 6510 or 6500. got the DATE screensaver? or screensaver at all.
I've got the touch that this 6500,6510,8310 is kind of "serious" mobiles.. and not for kids ;)

I myself do not have schematics to make a DCT-4 flasher, but if you use the "search" function here in the forum, you will easily find several different versions of them. It has been discussed plenty in older threads, have a read thru :)
Those phones, 8310, 6500 and 6510 are definitely no kids stuff... alhough specially the 6510 offers fun thru it's very good games, which you can (could... now suspended) even download new levels via Club Nokia. I used that myself, i had "Space Impact" with two different worlds, and Bumper with one additional, alltogether three, different tables as well as additional mazes (one "package" contained five mazes) for Snake 2.
I am not sure of the 6500, but both 8310 and 6510 have no screen saver option at all!
