Hi all,

With PPMmanager if you export tone chunk and place "\x01" before and after the words you want to flash then they'll when imported back into MCU.... FLASH! :-) But how do you go about editing the characteristics of the ".,?!:;-+#*" etc etc so that they flash?? ive tried it and can make any text i want in Write message menu flash but when i send it the reciever doesnt get flashy text - i know its to do with unicode but in my (3210) message settings all i get as options are:

Message cntre number
Message sent as ---> (Text, Fax, Paging, Email)
Message Validity

No option for unicode
Any one found a solution for this??
Mike

@sam22

3330 has it too, but I don't know too much about 3210.

@slikmik

And sending the flash sms from any appliaction from computer works ok ?

slikmik

neways i'll play about and let you guys know of any breakthroughs

@slikmik

Yes, that's right, but 3210 is older phone...
Btw. 3330 has unicode, too (and such things work ok).

think its all 33xx series fones.....

if u add \x0A that is the line break/feed (the enter/return button) character

good 4 writing animated SMS

This duz not need unicode option :)

There is no option for unicode in 3210. 3410 has also a unicode option, but i don't think you could send flashing text using your phone and not an external program.

@User32

Why ?

I've done it in my 3330 and it works perfectly ;-)

If you say so, then it can be done.
I don't have a flasher cable, so I can't test it.:(

logomanager with a f/mbus cable sends flashing sms.

welshwizard

@ GREEN GERBIL

THE IDEA IS TO SEND THE MESSAGES DIRECTLY FROM THE PHONE, NO CABLES, LIKE IF UR OUT.

33XX SERIES ONLY I THINK

How can I send flashing SMS using ONLY my phone and NOT LogoManager?

NokDoc
24-06-2002, 01:15 PM
U can:

1. Put a dummy into the outbox with proggie called PanuFlash.
This U then can edit each time to new ones.

2. Add hex 01 and 0A to the special character box of the sms editor.

This requires a certain string to be modified in the TEXT - COMM chunk of the flash file, the one that looks like the *box of sms editor.

It gives U the possibility to 'pick' the blink and line feed just like U pick a ':' or '%' symbol in the sms editor.
So U have this characters directly available in the phone itself.
(both in Unicode and 7bit settings)

btw, 3210 can't 'edit' Unicode, but it can handle 16bit sms's, also blinking.

One more, I don't have or know program for it.

U mean that i'll replace another symbol?
And what will be shown?

NokDoc

In a 3310-547 U will not replace, there is room to add two more.

The characters are shown as a square in the special character popup list.
If selected the text start to blink immediately, U can't see the character itself.

Since they are handled as 16 bit chars and the sms char counters counts in 8 bytes it may give characters popup at other place as expected while typing a sms.

Some training however can make it very nice addition.
This blinking sms's only shows blinking on Nokia's.

Here's where to add 01 and 0A in the ppm, string number 001D of the Comm.

.,?!:;-+#*()’'"_@&$£%/<>¿¡§=¤‘¥

Note the last two.

nokdok, i have a 3210 and it seems that i can only see and preview blinking sms in my phone. however if i send it out, the one who receives it does not see the message blinking. even if i send it to my phone.

I think it is not possible to write blinking sms if you haven't unicode input..till now 33XX and 5210 have unicode support 3210 ,8210, 6110, 6150 haven't..i tried so many times with 8210 it writes blinking but send as a square symbole so iam using theblinking in the 8210 in writing names in my phonebook;)

natnat

but i wonder why i can receive blinking messages from others.

so therefore i conclude, 3210 can only receive blinking messages but can never send one.

as far as i know, you can send blinking msg on 3210 if you will use chinese language.

natnat
07-07-2003, 10:02 AM
please explain more eleoson.

so you mean to say ill set my language to chinese then do the texting? my gosh u mean to say i have to learn chinese first before i could send flashing sms.

thats not a very good idea and i wont try it.

I don't think it will work...3210 doesn't have unicode input support...

Hi,

I'm sorry, my last experiences with 3210 were 3 yrs ago.

I really can't remember if it could write blinking messages.

Still, it can 'handle' received 16 bit text messages!

Have U tried, to put one in Ur outbox with eg Logomanager?

That one, U can use as a dummy to edit and forward again.

I'm almost sure, I saw it blink in the 3210, and also I could send it.

Yes NocDok you are right that he can EDIT any recieved sms that is blinking but it will not be as if he can write it blinking because he won't be able to select which word is to be blinking or not..
so he will have the whole msg blinking:)

there is no logomanager version 3.0

NocDok means that you should send a blinking message to your self...just select send txt msg and make it as Unicode and write this

\ftest\f
any word between \f will be blinking
then save to outbox and edit it later:D

i meant logomanager v1.3

i tried but the message doesnt send if i chose unicode. maybe my 3210 is defective then.

Hi,

I was just reading the whole thread. :)

Sorry...

thanks nokdok for the blinking message!

but still, there is no "edit" option.

the available options for the blinking message are:

1 - erase
2 - reply
3 - use number
4 - forward
5 - details

NO "edit" option so therefore i cant edit it nor put it in my outbox.

thanks so much for all the help!!!! especially nokdok!

discusion is over man. were trying to figure out how to edit flashing sms with a 3210. when you forward a blinking message, your not going to edit it but send the original message to another person.

the conclusion is, you cant edit blinking messages with a 3210. you can only receive and preview the message.

end of discussion!

thanks to all!!!!!!
