No, its very hard to do one with a cable (you have to change the uem chip).

The chip the imei is stored on is basically only writable once (OTP-One Time Programmable) there are stories about applying 12v to it but i dont think anyone has successfully done that yet. So its a hardware change and a quite expensive program to change the imei..............

OTP chips are basically EPROMs without a Quarz window and in a plastic package instead of a ceramic package.

It is possible to erase OTP chips like the UEM chip using X-Rays, because the X-Rays will go through the plastic and hit the chip.

Wouldnt it be also possible to pass the uem chip through a high flux density magnetic field in order to wipe the chip... this may be lass dangerous whilst still probably being effective... and i would have thought that 12v would damage the chip as they are triggured with about 420mV (i think)... im currently working on a uem project so anyone with any other thoughts/info please post it.... also my team managed to change both imei numbers stored on the chip but lost signal after doing this... does anyone have any idea why??
