Eeeep DCT4 ?

Hello!

I know this sounds like quite a weird section but because i'm a bit of a n00b to all this phone modification stuff, maybe someone would like to explain.

First off, what is a DCT4 code? I have a Nokia 6610 and i was just wondering what it's all about. Also, when i get a code from some software or your wonderful forums, what do i do with it and what does it do?

Lol sorry about that but yeh - it's better to know what your doing when doing something! Also one more thing, has there been any recent software upgrades to the Nokia 6610 range? I currently have V4.28 dated 11-02-03 (NHL-4U), and i read somewhere that in the newest upgrade it makes the phone respond to key presses quickly - one flaw in the Nokia 6610 is that there is a small delay when pressing a button. If there is new software, can someone advise on how i can "flash" my phone up to the newest version.

Can i just ask one more thing - because the flashers are quite expensive, are there like little mobile phone stores that can flash your phone up, instead of buying the whole DCT4 flasher?

The flasher cables are not expensive at all.

if your in the UK you will be able to buy the complete set including the datacable (com port) for less then £20
