Nokia 8310 - no reactiion after entering code

Wanted to unlock 8310 with code1 from DCT4-calculator.
Aftere entering the code - no reaction of the handy: wheter done or error-message!
Though handy unlocked?

with 8310,
put a sim card from other network in your phone then turn it on.
display will say "enter code"
enter the full code (#pw+??????????????+1#) then press ok.

Confirmation will be displayed.

Thank you MrWolfman and everyone who has put the unlocking algorythm into the public domain.

I was hesitant about possibly wrecking my brand new Orange UK 8310 with these codes. I cross checked the codes on the B-Freaks web page and the crux 0.98d download. Both produced the same results so eventually built up the courage to have a go.

followed MrWolfmans instructions to the letter. The first code (type #1) said it had removed phone restriction but did not accept different SIM. Code type #7 on the second go did the business though. The phone gives the "welcome to orange" logo but continues on to work on anything else. I expect this is just a downloadable logo issue. but do not know (or care) how to fix it.

do not be mislead by the unlock menu that comes up if you insert another SIM. You have to start with NO sim in the phone.

Thanks again to all involved. I wish I could contribute more but. hopefuly first timers may be encouraged by my success.
